Personality: Shikamaru is an extremely unenthusiastic person, and as such lives his life avoiding work. This is partly due to seeking paths of least resistance, as he often chooses to do things he would otherwise not do if people nag him enough. His plans on life reflect this aspect of his personality, as he plans to be an average ninja making an average salary, and retire once his children become independent. In hisfree time he typically takes naps, watches clouds, and plays strategy games.Despite his cowardly tendencies, Shikamaru is extremely intelligent

Fighting Style:Normally before mission Shikamaru usually thinks of a strategy depending on the objective of the mission. He thinks of the worse case scenarios and incorporates them into his plans


Background:Shikamaru is the son of Nara Shikaku and Nara Yoshino, which is a family of deer herders and shadow manipulators. Before Shikamaru went in the academy, he went to his usual bench where he would lay down and watch the clouds; he met Choji sitting on the same bench. From that day on they became best friends. Shikamaru maybe somewhat of a slacker but he is a genius. This is surprising since he got such horrible grades in the academy. In battle he comes up with effective strategies, which often work. Shikamaru was raised by a bossy mother, which led him to not want to fight or even hurt women unless extremely necessary. Shikamaru also enjoys playing the board game Shogi that resembles chess; he normally plays his sensei Asuma who has never managed to beat him.

"Oh, what a drag." Shikamaru drawled out as he sat on the ground, laying back, hands behind his head.
"Come on Shikamaru!" Choji yelled, a bag of chips in hand. "There's nothing better to do!"
Shikamaru closed his eyes and mentally groaned to himself. Why couldn't he relax on a nice hot, sunny day without benig bothered? He rolled over, his back to Choji, and didn't reply.
"Shikamaru!" Choji urged on, tapping his head. A sigh escaped the youung prodigy's lips. Realizing that he wasn't going to get rid of him, Shikamaru sat up and turned his bored eyes on Choji.
"If I come with you, will you leave me alone for the rest of the day?" His voice was flat and to the point. Choji nodded and smiled when his friend got to his feet. "Fine lets go."
That said, the two walked on to the ramen shop.
